Farming Simulator 15 Review
Farming Simulator 15
Overview of Farming Simulator 15
Modern Farming at its finest, in a video game format which is sure to keep you hooked for hours. A relaxing simulation that allows you to think/plan strategically with your very own virtual farm. Manage a farm with up to 15 friends online, or via a local network. You can also share mods, vehicles and equipment with players from all over the world.
Farming Simulator 15 invites you into the challenging world of farming life, including animal husbandry (cows, chicken and sheep), crops and sales. Manage and develop your farm with new infrastructure in two huge open worlds, including an all-new Nordic (European) environment. Manage the forest with a new activity: wood cutting! New big brands from the industry will also be available like New Holland, Ponsse and more.
Farming Simulator 15 has an all new graphics and physics engine. You can definitely see major improvements in this department compared to trailers of previous versions of the game. The realism factor in this game should not be overlooked and provides the authenticity you would expect in a game like this.
The gameplay is very open-ended, leaving many decisions to the farmer to decide how they want to run their farm. Similar to GTA and Watchdogs, it is what you want to do in a farming environment, sans the violence and car jacking’s. A few fields, some equipment and couple of farming vehicles are provided to start off with, all financed with a bank loan of course. Need more money to expand quickly? Get another loan and get to work. Want to pay off your debt, before expanding? No problem, that is an option as well. Plan your week out, with a weather forecast to maximize results–you don’t want unexpected weather to ruin your hard work. Too many tasks to do? Hire some workers that can automate some of the processes for you. Run your farm, the way you want in an open environment.
Our Team played in the Normal Difficulty, and found that even while using the tutorial to begin with, we felt lost at times and did not know what to do next. Once we got into the rhythm of things and slowly picked up on the direction of the game, we were able to enjoy it more. We would love to see a more interactive tutorial, or better yet during gameplay, have an option for a help screen which allows you to learn everything slowly, for the first task of each type or some other method. Otherwise, excitement lessens and everything becomes tedious if you do not understand the game.
It is a very impressive game and can provide hours of entertainment in a relaxing way. Not only for farmers, but farming enthusiasts or children who dream of having a farm empire in their future. It definitely recreates the farming experience well and it does give the player some great content in terms of what kind of farming equipment and crops are available. Lots of pros to the game, once you get going on it. We did not know what to expect when we first started this, but it was well worth it and we look forward to continue playing it. Just remember, don’t forget to take care of your real farm (if you have one), while taking care of your virtual one.
One thing I must commend Farming Simulator 15 on is the pure joy one gets when they are finally able to buy more land or animals. You’ve toiled away, harvesting wheat, cultivating, sowing and finally you have reaped the benefits. The same pleasure is felt when you’ve been awarded something at school or recognized at work. All the “hard-work” and time you’ve put in has finally amounted to something. It is the immense euphoria you feel that makes this game great. Some may read this and say, “That’s stupid, it’s virtual!”, but once you’ve put the time and effort in you will see what I mean.
